The book relates his long journey to recovery and his challenges and observations along the way. I chose to make the cover design primarily typographic as I wanted to highlight the unique and very personal title given to the book, and bring it to life visually. The crutches and boots refer to the author's accident and eventual return to his feet, while the lemon was added into the subtitle, and as an image, to help convey the author's sense of humour.
Neutral greys are contrasted with bright yellows in order to suggest the seriousness of the subject matter on the one hand, whilst emphasising the 'sunny', often very positive tone, taken by the author on the other. This is a cover that would stand out on the book shelves and intrigue potential buyers.")

The writer of the play wanted to show the two protagonists – husband and wife – dressed in safari hats to suggest that they're on an expedition searching for their 'lost years'. Instead of placing the couple in a jungle, I surrounded them with baby paraphernalia and overgrown lawn to suggest a domestic 'jungle'. The type is distressed to emphasise that the couple has aged over the years of child rearing and the colours chosen give the poster a slightly vintage look.")

I chose a giraffe to symbolise the publicist's ability to make her clients stand out from the crowd as well as her willingness to bend over backwards for them. The design is simple, modern and very striking.")

The bee is sweet – so kids and parents will love it – but it's also a modern hip skateboarder, bringing an adolescent element to the illustration. To reference the clinic, a stethoscope forms the letter P in Prairie and the bee has a bandaid on its knee. The stylised Prairie typography is paired with simple fonts in fresh colours which complement the bee and give the logo a very clean modern look.")

I chose to convey the idea of growing by illustrating a vine, and the idea of watching over children is suggested by the little bird perched on the vine. The two butterflies represent the mother and daughter who run the family business together.")

In the original winning logo I used a gift box in the design, but after much discussion with the client, we both agreed that something more symbolic of a transcendent journey was needed. The lotus flower is associated with beauty, purity and spiritual rebirth, so it is perfect for this type of product. I chose to integrate the lotus flower into the type to create a flowing and visually cohesive design which works in both horizontal and vertical formats. The client loves it!")

I wanted the logo to represent both the products for sale as well as the environmental benefits of buying secondhand goods. I combined three elements to create the logo: a gas stove top (four circles) + a snowflake + two letter Ks (part of the snowflake). The snowflake, which represents a fridge, is also a reference to nature, which makes the link with the environmental aspect of buying secondhand. To complement the minimalist graphic I used a simple modern font. I chose earthy, sophisticated gold/brown tones for the design to further reflect the link with nature and the environmental benefits of buying secondhand. As well as retail tags and shop window, the mockups provided show how the logo could be translated into metal for use above the shop door.")

The brief called for a stylish, sophisticated design, possibly using an Art Deco aesthetic. I framed the company initials using an Art Deco graphic, and to offset the ornateness of the frame, I chose a font which is simple and very reflective of the Art Deco era. This balance between simple and ornate elements creates a logo that is luxurious yet elegantly restrained.")

I chose a beautiful script font, modified it, then combined it with leaves and curves into an organic whole to give the logo an elegant and sophisticated feel with loads of feminine appeal.")

By rotating the letter K, to form a pair of arms and legs, placing U on top of it to form a head, then adding a pair of 'eyes', I was able to create a very simple 'child'. The logo is a perfect fit for the photographer's website, with its minimalist black and white design and playful tone of writing. The client plans to use the 'child' from the logo for stickers which can be given away to her young clients.")
