The first book, Nasu Rabi (Old Bear), follows Darius and his apprenticeship with the retired general, Arthengal. The two of them, and a bear named Antu, embark on a quest rescue Darius's mother from captivity.
The requirements for this design was as follows;
The cover should have the \"epic\" feel of a fantasy novel and should be reflective of scenes from the book. The land that they are travelling through in most of the book would be similar to southern Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. The mountains would be high altitude, similar to the Rocky Mountains. The plains would be similar in terrain to Nebraska.
The cities are all walled and the technology of the time is between 1st - 9th century AD.
To meet all the client requirements, I had to draw the whole scene from scratch, creating this original piece of art. There was a lot of research to be done to get the landscape right. It was a fun project and I enjoyed every bit working on it.")

For the cover, the client wanted to highlight a magical battle axe as the main element. She had specified how the axe should look like in her brief and I designed a concept for the weapon from scratch. I had to research and put lot of time and effort to get the axe right. I think I did a pretty good job with it. The client was very much satisfied with the results.")

After I had designed the first book, the client handed over me to design the whole trilogy which was great and a huge responsibility. I had to follow the same layout but put time and effort on designing the main element for each of book.
The previous book it was a magical hammer, and for this one, it's a mystical dagger. I had to come up with the concept and create the weapon from scratch. The client was super helpful with the feedbacks and guided me on what she exactly wanted everything to look like.
This project was exciting and challenging and I enjoyed every bit of time working on it :)")

1. The main character (a goblin) or definitive hints/parts of him. Complete would be preferable though.
2. a steampunk city, it's skyline or other definitive hints it is there.
3. The Brandenburger Tor or a recognizeable part of it.
(The center part would be important, never mind the side bits)
Preferences:
- Tonality: Chaotic humour
- Steampunk/magic
- A bit dark/gritty
- Exaggerated/fantastic
- Dynamic parts contrasted with a static background
- Illustration based
I originally designed the background which required me to do study and do my research on how steampunk streets look. The goblin design also pushed me to study basic anatomy of goblin like creature design. Enjoyed every part of this project :)")

It involves assassins, warrior princesses, thieves, soldiers, and mysterious, yellow, glowing shard of stone that has strange powers.
Since the series is called the Shards of Rul, the use of what is described as: a six inch shard of stone, like glass that glows with a yellow, ambient light and has red streaks shooting through it, was my main point of focus for the cover. The crown used in the series was also used to give the feeling of fighting for power.
The other two book covers will also focus on one of the main elements of respective stories.")

The below is how the client wanted the cover to look like;
\"So, I want the same (as in \"King's Imitation\") sort of two color background ripped design. I think it would be awesome if the spines of the three books, lined up, look like a continuous pattern, meaning the rips of white and rips of color all line up, if that's not too hard.
The main focus this time is either a small hammer that seems to be made entirely of light/crystal light. And since there is a secondary item in the first book's title, a very old looking, thin book is a main part of this story as well.\"
I designed the book 1 as well so it was easier for me to take the same design style here as well. I had to come up with a concept design and create the main hammer for this cover.")

1)The 6 years old size of Brandon, the main character.
2)A flying dark dragon with wings
3)A western style of palace as a background.
He wanted;
\"I would like Brandon standing on the ground with his left hand holding a piccolo, with his head looking upwards looking at the dark dragon.
The dark dragon is probably I think is the main part in the cover, flying just above Brandon, looking downwards, like having eye contact with Brandon.\"
So accordingly I designed the artwork from scratch which allowed me to personalize every element to the client's needs.")

So for the design, I took elements like Anubis (obviously), Pyramids, Moon and stars. Instead of directly using a picture of Anubis, I wanted to convey Him as a god, not as a physical entity but as a spiritual being in which ancient Egyptians used to worship and believe. While doing my own research, I saw that the moon and stars have some sort of relationship with ancient Egyptian mythology, therefore thought of putting them in the design as well.
Above Anubis, I tried to designed a portal that connects the Afterlife. So bottom half of the cover represents this world where people and animals are there and through the God Anubis, they are guided to the Afterlife.")

The author wanted a burning crown but I went a step further and actually melted the end of the burning crown and the dripping stuff gets to where the title is. Tried my best to get that cinematic feel for this artwork.")
